Moses Supposes. Really good Short animation
AAAAALLRIGHT ASPIRING CONCEPT ARTISTS, ILLUSTRATORS, ANIMATORS, AND OR JUST ARTISTS IN GENERAL.
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL EXERCISE I REALLY RECOMMEND YOU ALL DO.
In the red, we have a skeletal study—finding out where the bones or structure of the character would be. In blue we have the peices of the characters split into different shapes to make them easier to draw and remember. Green is mass shapes and masses. Purple is the line of action.
Guys, I have like. A bazillion times more understanding of the characters above than I had before. I completely recommend doing this: study their skeleton and then dominant shapes and masses. It will give you a better understanding of how your character moves and is held together.
The line of motion helps you make your character move in a more interesting fashion. It helps you see their movement and motion in a better light, and where there weight is being distributed.
And there you go.
Practicing of human figure. 7 years ago.
If someone wants to see more, I’ll show more.
This is very good to practice exact proportion of human body. It’s not for anatomy. You can see that I use same proportion now with this drawings.
If you want to do this practicing - (if you forgive my English :-B)
1. You need to try to draw same proportion with original picture, perfectly.
2. Don’t use a grid. You can use the line to indicate the center, except that, only use your eyes.
3. Use pencil and paper. It’s good to be skilled lines. (But it’s a something additive)
4. You need someone who has higher level skill than you to draw human body, like art teacher. You have to show your drawings to teacher and take a feedback. And teacher has to tell you how much you draw the proportion perfectly same with original picture. (except that, not important. don’t waste time to see anatomy or costumes)
Don’t be afraid to show the unskillful drawings. If you make many mistakes, it means you draw a lot. And drawing a lot is only way to be a good artist.
